Scored a free iPod
Finally.
Over two years ago I set out to fulfill the Free iPod offer only to give up a month later when I realized how hard it is to sell friends on “it really works, just sign up for a credit card.” I did get 2 of the 5 offers completed, but the final three didn’t seem worth it. Until I discovered Referral Swapper, a website that lets you hook up with others willing to trade offers for other offers or cash. It took a couple months, but it worked great to achieve my final three offers.
Freepay, the company that is offering these free iPods recently implemented a three month time limit to completing all the referrals and offers to qualify for the prize. This really makes it not worth the effort as I discovered how difficult and how long some offers take to register and give you credit.
I actually qualified for my free iPod four months ago, but freepay apparently had a big backlog of iPods to fulfill. It took FOUR MONTHS for this to arrive. They claim they have new ownership now and will keep up with fulfillments. Due to the poor service and the 3 month time limit, I won’t be doing any more free offers. Just not worth the headache.
But I’ve gotta say thanks. This thing is a really sweet upgrade to my 2nd Gen iPod. The video is so bright and crisp and the photo navigation is really nice. I’m looking forward to catching up on all the video podcasts I’ve been saving up for the past four months in anticipation of this shipment.
