JewelBoxing Review
I recently completed a design assignment to create a 3 CD set of Classical music compilations and took advantage of the fabulous look of Jewlboxing. I thought twice after realizing I had to order 40 cases when all I really needed was 3. Then figured as soon as the day comes that I get a Mac I’ll be creating many home video DVDs for family and friends to make use of the remaining 37 cases.
The cases are well worth the price and come with perfect templates in all major file types and even include corrugated print ready card stock to print, pop out and construct your jewel box. One problem I ran into was the fact that my Epson photo printer only prints high resolution on photo quality paper. Printing on the card stock included with the cases looked like I had just dropped the paper in some mud. So I ended up not using the included card stock for the cover and printed on photo paper and cropped using the included Illustrator and Photoshop template files.
I’m happy with the result and look forward to creating an entire library of home movies and gifts with all the leftovers. It will be interesting to see how well I can print on the included card stock with a print service like Kinkos. It may be a huge battle getting the image to line up exactly with the cut out, but my be worth the try.
With the $9 shipping the total for the minimum order was $58, that’s $1.45 per case. A bit expensive when you consider large projects, but for small jobs and quality designs that need an extra something to make it pop, give Jewlboxing a shot.
